Iscte – Meta Digital is a non-profit education project developed in collaboration with the university, businesses, and local territory, that aims to establish itself as a leading entity in innovation and digital transformation.
Its focus is on developing an educational offering tailored to individuals, companies, and organizations, and on supporting the implementation of transformative projects that leverage digital potential.
Iscte – Meta Digital has chosen AppX as its main technological partner to develop the website and platform, enabling streamlined registrations and automated payments and notifications.
Designing and developing the Iscte – Meta Digital platform presented a challenge, primarily due to the need to organize and integrate course information from various sources, their partners. We had to develop a robust system that not only gathered and displayed diverse educational content coherently but also streamlined the registration and payment processes.
The platform features a comprehensive, easily navigable catalog of courses, providing a seamless registration process and an intuitive method for expressing interest in upcoming courses. Additionally, it includes automated notifications to keep users promptly informed about course registrations, updates, and payment confirmations.
The platform consolidates information from various educational sources into a single, easily navigable repository. It allows users to access a wide range of courses, enhancing the educational experience by providing coherent, centralized course details.
The platform streamlines the registration process, allowing users to enroll in courses effortlessly. It ensures a seamless user journey from initial browsing to final enrollment. Additionally, if a course is full, users can express their interest and opt to receive notifications when new slots become available, ensuring they never miss an opportunity to participate.

The Iscte – Meta Digital platform uses a technology stack comprising WordPress, Elementor, and MySQL, chosen for its user-friendliness and efficiency. WordPress was selected because it is well-known and easy for the client’s content management team to operate, allowing them to update and manage content without additional training. Elementor enhances the platform’s design and allows easier future interventions of the client’s internal team due to its versatile page-building tools, while MySQL underpins the system with strong relational data management capability. This combination ensures a smooth user interface and robust backend functionality, supporting everything from user registration to content delivery.
This platform significantly enhances the user experience by providing a streamlined, accessible, and efficient educational environment.
Within just a few months of its launch, the system has already attracted hundreds of registrations, demonstrating its effectiveness and appeal. The automated notification system keeps users well-informed about course availability, updates, and payment processes, ensuring they are engaged and can plan their learning journey effectively.
They met the brief and did it in a timely manner, this was very important because we were working on a tight schedule. They were available to make last minute changes and deliver them almost immediately.
